"Whenever a craze develops in any market, you will find low-life scammers looking to cash-in on the frenzy. The internet marketplace has seen everything from fake luxury goods, to promises of getting rich on fantasy investments all with the perpetrators hiding anonymously behind a keyboard. Jeremy Boddy of Peterborough, Ontario is one such individual because he has been stacking piles of cash for years promising car enthusiasts whatever they wanted to hear and delivering on next to nothing.
Boddy, 34, is well known in the Canadian Nissan Skyline community as a shady importer of Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles. Ever since these legendary cars have been eligible for import, he wasn't far behind lurking around trying to dupe young and naive buyers into owning the car of their dreams. On the popular Nissan Skyline forum board gtrcanada.com, Boddy has been called out on many deals gone bad and banned (more than once) from doing business there, or even showing up.
With his fraud exposed, he decided to switch to other hot JDM cars like the Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra and Mitsubishi Evo in addition to heading south of the border to find "customers" in the United States."
